The Realme GT 2 Master Explorer edition has been launched in China. Many brands have launched the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered flagship phones this month in the home market. The GT 2 Master Explorer, which replaces the original Realme GT Master Explorer, is Realme’s first phone powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform.
The device offers other key features like an attractive design, a 120Hz AMOLED display, LPDDR5X RAM, and a better heat dissipation unit. It is also Realme’s first phone to support 100W fast charging.
The “Master Edition” Realme phones are known for their exceptional designs. The Realme GT 2 ME has a plain leather back with a metal casing, which is fastened with rivets at the edges. Realme has collaborated with famous designer, Jae Jung, to design the GT 2 ME.
On the front, it has an AMOLED display with a centrally positioned punch-hole and slim bezels. The display is shielded by a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus. The device measures 161.3 x 74.3 x 8.2mm and weighs around 199 grams.
The 6.7-inch AMOLED display on the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 10-bit colors, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+ support, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The screen is powered by the X7 independent graphic chip for ultra-low latency frame insertion.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is present at the helm of the device. Apart from faster speeds, LPDDR5X RAM uses 20 percent less power than LPDDR5. The device comes with up to UFS 3.1 storage. The device is equipped with a dual vapor chamber liquid cooling system for enhanced heat dissipation. For gamers, the device is equipped with two pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons.
Realme GT Neo 3, announced earlier this year, came with support for 150W charging. The Realme Q5 Pro / GT Neo 3T that arrived later was equipped with 80W charging. The Realme GT 2 ME supports 100W charging. According to the company, the 100W GaN (gallium nitride) charger that will be bundled with the device can charge it completely in just 25 minutes.
Coming to the optics, the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer offers a 16-megapixel front camera. Its back camera module has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 150-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel microscope lens with up to 40x magnification.
The Realme GT 2 Master Explorer runs on Android 12 OS and Realme UI 3.0. The device is equipped with connectivity features, such as dual SIM, 5G, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
