Next Android Version After 8.0 Oreo To Be Released in Coming Weeks, Checkout The Name
Android
8.0 Oreo
has just been launched few weeks ago and is yet to even get its
feet on available devices including the almighty Nexus and Pixel smartphones
that sets the pace. We are already talking of another version of Android.

The new version is Android 8.1. This was disclosed by a
teardown of the latest iteration of the beta Google app. The SDK used within the
company to build said app outright claims so.
Now talking about its name, it will be more reasonable for
Google to hold on to Oreo just like Nougat. It would be a ridiculous to introduce
another name just barely days away from the launch of a well-recognized brand.
Recall that Google did same thing last year with 7.0 and 7.1
both still under Nougat. If you’re pondering on when 8.1 will be released,
remember that in 2016 Android 7.1 landed with the Pixels only a couple of
months or so after rolling out 7.0 updates. So, same thing might happen this
year with the second-gen Pixels. They may be the first set of devices to land
with Android 8.1, when they are announced in October.
