Samsung has finally unleashed its much-awaited Galaxy Tab S8 series alongside the Galaxy S22 series smartphones at its Galaxy Unpacked event. The latest tablet series includes three devices – the Galaxy Tab S8, the Galaxy Tab S8+, and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The devices come with flagship-grade specs, advanced displays, and more. Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Series Unveiled
Alongside the standard Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8+, Samsung has announced the highest-end Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra this year. While all the models of the new Galaxy tablet line come with similar specs, there are a few key differences in the display and battery departments. The Tab S8 series is partially made up of recycled fishing nets, just like the Galaxy S22 phones as an effort towards a sustainable planet.
The tablets are powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, ultra-wide front cameras, a three-microphone setup, and intelligent auto-framing technology that promises a truly professional video call experience.
Other features include an enhanced Multi-active Windows and Samsung DeX, safe and easy file sharing with password-protected Quick Share and an improved S Pen in the box. The tablets feature the toughest Armor Aluminum body that is over 30% more scratch-resistant and 40% less prone to bending than Galaxy Tab S7, says the company.
The Tab S8 Ultra features a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, and is equipped with dual 12MP front cameras with support for 4K video recording. Samsung’s auto-framing technology automatically keeps you in focus during a call, while also zooming in or out to include new participants as they join you. All the models pack Quad Speakers with Dolby Atmos.
The Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra pack an 8,000mAh, 10,090mAh and 11,200mAh battery respectively with support for 45W superfast charging that can charge up to 100% in 80 minutes (90 minutes for S8 Ultra). You can also simply connect your Galaxy Tab S8 to a Galaxy S22 smartphone with a USB-C cable, and the tablet’s incredible fast-charging battery can double as a portable charger.
Samsung will sell Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Book Cover Keyboard that features wider, backlit keycaps, customizable shortcut settings, and adjustable standing angles. It features premium, antimicrobial polyurethane leather and a glass-coated touchpad that enables smooth and responsive typing. Plus, Wireless Keyboard Share can link your connected keyboard to a Galaxy smartphone for easy typing across devices.
